This clinic was made to be a space that is focused on patient care without insurance companies or hospital administrators dictating how care should be delivered. This is a place where patients' struggles will be not only heard, but taken seriously. People come to the doctor because they need help. It is imperative to believe the patient and continue to ask the right questions until the problem has been discovered, named and a plan for treatment has proven successful.

Just as important as it is to discover what the problem is it is equally important to recognize when the problem is so complex that additional expertise is needed. I am happy to refer patients to academic health systems and Mayo Clinic to obtain answers when it is clear the problem is too complex.

Although I have been a physician for thirteen years, this is the first clinic I have ever started and I look forward to growing with the community. As I'm stepping into this new role I think back to a book we read in med school, "It's Your Ship: Management Techniques from the Best Damn Ship in the Navy" which describes how the worst ship in the Navy became the best performing when everyone's input was taken into consideration to improve the ship. We are open to any and all suggestions to help make this clinic the best damn neurology clinic in Wisconsin.

Laissez les bon temps rouler. Whose ear? Ragbrai. A Hui Hou. Go Pack Go!

Wherever you hail from and wherever you're headed, know that you are welcome and valued in our clinic.
